What Intention Will You Set for the Upcoming Year?
With the new year upon us, many people are setting resolutions; however, it was brought to my attention that resolutions often set us up to beat ourselves up when we don't reach the goal. A more strategic idea is to pick a word that will create intention for your year.
This year, I have chosen the word courage. I don't know how courage will play out in the upcoming year, but I know it will. It will be apparent in my personal life and in my professional life. I'm excited to cultivate courage in my daily decisions and see what manifests over the next few months.
Keep your intention at the forefront.
Another piece to this idea of creating intention, is that we have to figure out a way to keep the word in the front of our brains. In order to do this for myself, I have changed the quote in my office's waiting room to "It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." I've also made a word cloud using only the word 'courage' and hung it in front of my desk in my home office. Other ideas include: creating a weekly reminder in your calendar or placing sticky notes in highly visible places in your life (i.e. bathroom, fridge, dash of your car, office desk).
So, my question to you... What's your word? What intention will you for the year? And perhaps even more importantly, how will you remember to keep your word in the front of your brain? Leave me comment and let me know!
